Article summary

Account

In order to get started on the Combeenation platform, you need an account and a company. A company is the central hub for configurators, collaborative users, assets and other essential components. There are currently two options to achieve this:

Create a new company

If you are the business owner, you probably choose this option. Visit the registration page and create a new account, including the company. As you register, we generate a company id suggestion based on your company display name.

Unique company id

The company id must be unique on the Combeenation platform and has the following limitations:

  • 30 characters maximum

  • Only alphanumeric characters and numbers allowed

  • Must start with an alphanumeric character

This id will be used to generate configurator links (e.g. portal.combeenation.com/cfgr/YOURCOMPANYNAME/YOURCFGRNAME) and is also vital if used with our API.

Choose Wisely

Select a concise and meaningful name for your company, adhering to the specified limitations

Join an existing company

If there's an existing company on the Combeenation platform where you wish to collaborate, simply request an invitation from the company admin. Once you receive the invite link, you can create your account.

Platform overview

As soon as you have created or joined a company, you are able to navigate through the platform.

Companies

In the left sidebar, you can see a list of all companies you are assigned to. If there is only one company you have access to, the company menu will be collapsed by default. By clicking on your company or pressing CTRL + K you can expand this menu and search/visit another companies.

Configurators

Below the company selector you can see the configurator section. If there is at least one configurator in this company, it will be selected by default. By selecting a configurator, you get to see the configuration metrics, which represent the statistics of the configurations of a configurator.

A configurator can be published or withdrawn. Published configurators can be embedded on your system (see Embedding & Whitelist).

Each configurator can have up to 10 drafts, can be found on the drafts page. For more information on how to create and edit a configurator see Creating a configurator.

In the drafts page, you see all drafts for the selected configurator, where you can edit or preview your configurator. The embedding section shows information about how your configurator can be embedded in your own page. In addition, there are several configurator related settings e.g. whitelist domains, sending domains.

Assets

Each configurator requires assets like image, data, 3D models, textures, materials, ...
Those assets can be managed inside the asset editor (found on the lower left sidebar).

Before uploading an asset, an asset bundle needs to be created. This asset bundle is versioned, and each version can be assigned to a configurator.
Inside an asset bundle, the assets can be grouped together in folders (folders can't be nested).
For more information, see Getting started with assets.

Workflows

Pricing tier dependent

Depending on your pricing tier, this may not be visible at the moment

With workflows, it is possible to import data in a customizable way into the Combeenation platform.

It allows the platform user to build configurators in a more data-oriented way and update the data on a regular basis.Workflows are written in JavaScript, and the Combeenation system provides a set of JavaScript functions which allow the interaction with assets.

For more information see Workflow basics

Users

Also found in the lower left sidebar is the user management for each company. A company can have multiple users and each user has a defined role in the company. Each role provides a different set of permissions, for more info see User Permissions.

New users can get access to a company by sending an invitation. The invite dialog can be found in the upper right corner of the user screen. You can either enter the mail address of the inviting user directly and a mail with the link will be sent, or just create an invitation link and send it over your preferred messenger.

Settings

Within this menu, you can configure your company settings like address, subscription and api tokens.

Export

Pricing tier dependent

Depending on your pricing tier, this may not be visible at the moment

The last feature in the sidebar is the export. It allows you to export configurators and asset bundles to different companies.
